A main concern of anyone planning a trip to New York is the amount of money that they will spend on food. In fact, this city has some of best eating options in the whole of the US. The size and diversity of the population also ensures that practically every cuisine in the world is catered for.

We all know that New York is a vast, multi cultural metropolis, which so good news for us as we will be able to find any kind of cuisine. You can literally eat your way around the world without leaving the city or breaking the bank.

If you like to eat in quiet, tastefully decorated premises then give this a miss. The fact they charge so little speaks volumes about the surroundings. If taste matters more to you than what’s on the walls you’ll be perfectly happy with your meal.

If you like your sandwiches big and meaty and full of flavor, head down to Tony Luke’s. They are huge, and a side order of fries with cheese and a soda make for a very satisfying meal.

I consider myself a bit of a dessert connoisseur; having eaten so many of them in the past. I eat them hot or cold, so here are a few suggestions for desserts you may like to try.

You may make chocolate mousse on a regular basis, but how often do you use white chocolate? You may not feel as if it will taste like a real mousse, but trust me, it is. You may well end up preferring the white version.

Whatever you mash for your baby remember that it must be completely smooth and have nothing added, like sugar. It must be bland for your baby’s body to be able to cope with it, so a mashed banana is perfect.

A good way to make a broth when your child is a bit older is to make it with organic chicken, but strain it so they get the goodness but there is no chance of choking on the pieces of chicken.

When preparing broth and the like, avoid ‘windy’ veg such as onions and wait a while before adding pulses. Cauliflower and broccoli can also cause wind so leave those until later too.

Making your children’s baby food is a lot cheaper as well as being much healthier. You know exactly what’s going into it and can relax in the knowledge that your baby is getting a great start in life.

Cleaning Coffee Makers Using Ingredients From Your Kitchen

They say, \”You ARE what you eat.\” So why would you choose to be dirty, smelly and unhealthy? You wouldn\’t of course… Yet many of us will quite happily drink our morning coffee from just that – a dirty, smelly, and unhealthy coffee maker.

A regular cleaning program for the inside parts of your coffee machine is SO important. Doing so will extend the life of your machine, thus saving you money. And it will produce FAR better tasting coffee for you. Whats the point in have a great coffee machine, and buying the freshest coffee, and then running it through a dirty machine? None…

Step-by step guide to cleaning your coffee machine:

1. Tip out any old coffee grinds from your filter basket, and rinse thoroughly with hot water.

2. Make yourself a vinegar cleaning mix (2/3 boiling water and 1/3 vinegar, or citric acid). Pour this cleaning mix into your machines water reservoir and coffee pot. Let stand for at least 10 minutes.

3. Put your machine through a full cycle. Don\’t forget to empty out your decanter first of course.

5. When cycle has been completed, let everything sit for another 15 minutes to soak further.

6. If you\’ve been bad and not cleaned your machine in a while, complete steps 2-5 a second time.

7. Now give everything a good rinse with fresh hot boiling water. Run one or two cycles through your coffee brewer to get rid of the vinegar taste.

8. Hey Presto!!! You now have a fresh, clean and healthy coffee machine.

If you follow these steps every 1 or 2 dozen cycles, you will have far better coffee, and keep your machine running for longer. If you aren\’t a regular coffee drinker, you should still do this every few months to stop the calcium build up in your pipes. Maybe write down a reminder on your calendar so you don\’t forget!
